Hawaii seems to be on nearly everyone’s bucket list. And for good reason. It boasts some of the best beaches, awe-inspiring volcanoes, beautiful wildlife, and some rich and interesting history. Here is where to visit in Hawaii if you want to enjoy the best that Hawaii has to offer.
There is perhaps no beach in all the world that is more iconic than the famous Waikiki. It is a good mix of Hawaiian culture and tourism. Waikiki spans about 1.5 miles and has some of the most exclusive hotels, best restaurants, and most desired shopping on the island.
While at Waikiki you must visit the Duke Kahanamoku statue. Kahanamoku was a master surfer that helped put Hawaii on the map. Also, take time to visit the Waikiki Aquarium and make sure to save room for Duke’s famous Hula Pie.
While in Oahu you must visit the USS Arizona Memorial that is located at Pearl Harbor. Everyone will enjoy watching an informative movie that will explain the history of this site. Then, take a short boat ride to the USS Arizona Memorial. The entire tour should take almost 1.5 hours. It will definitely be an experience to remember.
Road to Hana
If you are going to Maui make sure to add Road to Hana to your itinerary. Road to Hana is located on the eastern part of the island. By taking the Hana Highway you can view some of the best coastal scenery. There are also many companies that offer guided tours of the area.
One of the best things about Road to Hana are the great stops you can make on your journey. It is a good idea to do some research on the Road to Hana before you start your trip. Traffic can get pretty intense and can make the day go by quickly.
Na Pali Coast
Kauai is the 4th largest Hawaiian island and has become a very popular tourist destination. It is famous for its Na Pali Coast. The Na Pali coast has everything you could imagine when thinking of Hawaii. Enjoy the beautiful running waterfalls, the wading rivers, and the amazing tropical Hawaiian landscape.
Na Pali is unique because it is very difficult to get to and therefore has not been disturbed much. Many companies offer boat rides to the coast. Or, if you are feeling ambitious you can take a 22-mile roundtrip and see some of the best beaches, coastlines, and fish in the world.
Hawaii Volcanoes National Park
If you are visiting the big island known as Hawaii you will need to go to the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. This park is home to the famous Kilauea and Mauna Loa Volcanos. What is interesting about these volcanoes are they are still active. Kilauea is more active at the moment and also easier to access.
Make sure to wear your walking shoes and bring water to enjoy a day of hiking and sightseeing. If you are not able to walk well you many also take a guided boat tour or even see the volcanoes by helicopter.
The Hawaii Islands are truly magnificent. Both the Hawaiian culture and scenery should be experienced. These recommendations are just a small sampling of where to visit in Hawaii.
